With CE 105, a large number of variables that influence corrosion processes can be studied in parallel. For this, eight glass tanks are available. With them you can compare different materials in different conditions. The tanks are filled with the desired electrolyte solution. Up to 6 samples can be fixed to the lid of each of the tanks and immersed in the solution. It is possible to connect the samples to an electrical conductor to study local elements and the principle of sacrificial anodes. An adjustable power supply allows connecting an external voltage. This voltage opposes the flow of current between the noble and non-noble metal of the local elements. This reduces the corrosion rate of the less noble metal.
